B.Tech in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) is a fusion course combining biology and other basic engineering sciences. This 4- year long course involves application of concepts and methods of biology and other sciences. The course is divided into 8 semesters, with each semester lasting a period of 6 months. In each semester, students are exposed to both theoretical subjects and practical lab sessions.
B.E./ B.Tech in Biological Engineering explores an amalgamation of topics such as engineering, technology and Biology. It is aimed at using concepts of engineering, technology and Biology for solving real- life problems and for aiding research work, improving and enriching healthcare sector, medicines, diagnostic processes, rehabilitation, hospital equipment/ tools and surgical processes.
The minimum eligibility criterion needed to be satisfied for pursuing this course is a class XII/ Higher Secondary qualification with Biology, Maths and Chemistry as the main subjects. Admission is based on performance in entrance examinations carried out by different universities like JEE Main, UPSEE, AIEEE or any other relevant State- level examination.
