M Tech (ME) Machine Design is a two-year post-graduate programme that focuses on the concepts and processes involved in the designing & manufacturing of machines and machine related items. The considerations, procedures and principles of machine design are introduced to the students along with statistical concepts, engineering materials and their mechanical properties.
The programme facilitates the study of various materials required for the design of mechanical elements. In addition, it aims to endow knowledge of the behaviour of materials and systems in both elastic and plastic ranges, failure modes and mechanisms in both static and dynamic conditions. Besides classroom learning, students also get opportunities to be involved in projects that enhance their practical knowledge of the subject and prepare them for the industry-environment.
This course is for individuals who have a good understanding of engineering fundamentals and have a passion for research and complex problems are the best fit for the programme.
