M Tech Paint technology is a rapidly developing subject. It deals with research, design, manufacturing a number of different types of paints, often with very specific purpose as well as improving the existing paints. Social and environmental concerns have led to a number of legislations to be performed in this industry. As a paint technologist, you will have to develop new products keeping in mind these environmental guidelines. Paint technology also includes the machines and processes of applying paint. It therefore includes development, modeling and the simulation of the process of paint coats and the various machines and processes involved in this. It also includes various methods of quality testing to determine whether the paint meets industry standards and is both safe and long lasting. As a paint technologist, you will also determine the suitability of different kinds of paints for different surfaces. Such surfaces include residential and commercial buildings, automobiles, aircrafts and marine, high performance and anti corrosive paints. Finally, paint technologists also determine the best way to apply different types of paints and also evolve various tools and processes for the proper application of paints.
