M.Sc Sericulture is a post-graduate programme in the field of Agriculture that deals of rearing of silkworms and production of raw silk. Even though B.Sc Sericulture deals with a similar concept, the candidates may require to study M.Sc Sericulture for in-depth knowledge, techniques on the rearing of silkworms and better career prospects. In India, there are some universities, which offer M.Phil/ Ph.D in Sericulture and an M.Sc degree is mandatory to pursue Doctoral level courses. Almost, 15 universities/ institutes offer M.Sc Sericulture in India. Some of the top universities include Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Kakatiya University, Bangalore University, Mysore University etc. However, only 8-10 seats are offered in each institute and the competition for the admission is high.
