Under B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology program, the eligible candidates are provided training in all the types of equipment that are used for anaesthesia, different anaesthesia agents, the techniques that need to be used for giving anaesthesia as well as its allowable dosage which depends on the patient and operational conditions. The subjects that are taught during the three years of graduation include Anaesthesia Technology, Medical Technology, Fundamentals of Operation Theatre, and Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre techniques.
This program will help the students with forming a strong base in anaesthesia technology which will equip them with the skills of choosing the right anaesthetic that should be given to any patient on the basis of their medical condition. They also gain a good knowledge of the correct equipment that needs to be used and the dosage of the anaesthetic that they would be giving. B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology students also learn a lot about the fundamentals of operation theatres, emergency wards, and intensive care units. A lot of topics related to medical technology are also covered in this course. The additional skill that they gain is to monitor the patient. The students will be able to assist doctors in ICUs, emergency wards, and operation theatres. They are basically allied healthcare professionals.
